Overall Leveling
You can efficiently gain levels as a sorcerer in ESO while still having fun. This article is aimed at helping you know the best way possible to level with the sorcerer class. No matter where you are or what your level is, there are some general leveling strategies for Sorcerer to keep in mind.

Mob Grinding is the Name of the Game
You can gain experience points mainly by mob grinding with gold farming. There are several things that make it possible:

  1. For the same reward as mob grinding, quests generally take far longer to complete, in addition to them being spread out across the map. It is very difficult to do several quests at once or to power through quests in ESO.
  2. With the right build, mobs are rather easy to destroy even in large groups.
  3. Gaining access to large concentrations of mobs can be made easy with a variety of public and solo dungeons.

The point of matter is, you will most likely gain 60-75 percent of your experience points by grinding mobs no matter what your level is.

Solo Dungeons
When leveling, your best friend is solo dungeons. You don’t have to worry about competing with other people as thee dungeons are occurring to you only. During times when the public dungeons are flooded with players, they may be superior, although they do not provide the potential as doing a public dungeon solo. Those who have not yet mastered their AOE build or those at lower levels may find the solo dungeons easier.

Public Dungeons
When grinding to level up in ESO, you do not have to search the landscape for mobs. Entering a public group or solo dungeon is far more efficient. Torches on the map will mark these locations on the map. Very often, they come as some kind of caves or ruins. You will have no problem soloing these dungeons if you have a build focused on AOE DPS.

Players can solo even the group public dungeons. Remember that ESO is not a complete yes-man of a game when it comes to PvE, although it is generally easy on players. Along with practice of and good knowledge of skills, it will take a completed and focused build to solo the public dungeons.

When the public dungeons are overcrowded, only then should you avoid it. These locations may become over-saturated with players at launch, during peak playtimes, or after a major update. That way, they quickly lose their practicality as a good experience points generator. That means you are losing too many experience points to other players if you are fighting more than five people in your proximate area of the public dungeon at any one time.

As long as you can place at least one hit on the mob before it dies, mob experience is instanced if you do find yourself in a group situation. In order to soak up points, spam AOE skills everywhere you go in a crowded situation. With DPS build, your Sorcerer can clear the mob with ease.

Destruction Staff: Gear Guide for an ESO Sorcerer

The destruction staff will be the primary weapon for majority of sorcerers. It can bring the best out of Sorcerer’s nuke skills. Since they rely on magicka instead of stamina, destruction staffs are superior to other weapon choices for sorcerers, also with most of them keeping minimal stamina and maxing out their magicka points. Corresponding to three different damage types, there are three types of destruction staffs in the game: frost, shock, and fire.

Damage type has to do with the variation in staffs. The same amount of damage is dealt by fire, frost, and shock damage. Although they can change how certain staff skills function and all have a different secondary effect. The effectiveness of a staff on different enemies can also be changed by different damage types. Fire staffs can be more effective to certain enemies, such as Vampires, who have a weakness to fire. The effectiveness of a certain staff can also be reduced in PvP when certain players are wearing a gear that gives them resistance to certain elements. Carrying one of each staff type at all times and swapping weapons based on the events is a good idea.

  • Fire Damage:
When using destructive touch, fire damage causes knockback and stun effects. Because of that, a fire staff is one that is mainly used for PvE on all builds. The burning effect, which is an additional damage over time effect, can also be applied as a result of some skills. This means that, compared to other staffs, fire staffs have a higher overall damage output which is good for gold farming and grinding.

  • Shock Damage:
The disorient effect can be a result of shock damage skills. Since its effect is negated by damage, it is useless in AOE damage situations but, nevertheless, a useful CC effect for single-target situations. It is a long stun if the target remains undamaged. Concussion can be a result of other shock damage skills, and the target’s damage is lowered by 10 percent.

  • Frost Damage:
A temporary root, the deep freeze effect, can be a result of frost damage skills. Since enemies can still attack, it is not as effective as a stun. Thus, it is more inferior to stun combination and fire knockback. Chilled can be applied by other skills, such as force shock. Since it allows melee enemies to be kited very effectively, chilled is more useful as a slowing effect. As long as the opponent player is most reliant on melee DPS, this could make the frost staff effective for certain situations such as against melee bosses or 1v1 PvP fights.
